MSCI ESG Rating AAA

MSCI ESG Ratings are given in seven ranked grades in descending order from AAA to CCC, based on the firm’s analysis of a company’s initiatives relating to environmental, social and governance issues. MSCI ESG Ratings serve as a global index for making ESG investments.
As of 2024, we received the highest MSCI ESG rating of "AAA."

ESG Finance Awards Japan

The ESG Finance Award Japan is an award system established by the Ministry of the Environment of Japan to recognize and award financial institutions and organizations that are actively engaged in ESG finance, as well as companies that are engaged in sustainable management, and to share the results of these efforts with society in general.
In the 5th ESG Finance Awards Japan, we ware selected in the "Environmentally Sustainable Company" category, which recognizes companies that meet certain standards in terms of the level of disclosure on important environmental issues. We were also selected as an "Environmental Disclosure Progress Company," which recognizes companies that have improved the content of their disclosures to make them easier to understand, and for which further development is expected.

Evaluation of Diversity

Selected as a Nadeshiko Brand for the ninth consecutive year.

Since FY 2012, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), in collaboration with the TSE, has been selecting and announcing listed companies that excel in promoting the activities of women for Nadeshiko Brand. By introducing listed companies that excel in the promotion of women’s activities as attractive to investors who place importance on improving corporate value over the medium to long term, this program aims to promote the value of investing in companies and accelerating their efforts.
This is the tenth consecutive year that we have been selected since the start of the program in FY 2012. In FY 2020, 45 companies were selected, making us the only company in Japan to be selected for nine consecutive years. We will continue to build a well-developed Women's Leadership Pipeline and proactively support the further advancement of women.

Diversity Management Selection 100 Prime

Based on the Diversity 2.0 Action Guidelines compiled by the METI in March 2017, the Diversity Management Selection 100 Prime Winners program selects companies that are working on Diversity 2.0 in order to step up their efforts to continue creating corporate value over the medium to long term. The program began in FY 2017, and two companies are selected each year, with the Company and Tokyu Railways being selected in FY 2019.
By applying diverse perspectives to our services and products, we hope to promote innovation in lifestyles and work styles, and keep Tokyu’s rail service areas being the main focus. We will continue to further promote diversity management that allows diverse human resources to play an active role.

The New Diversity Management Selection 100

The METI selected the New Diversity Management Selection 100 as an award for companies that create innovation and value by providing opportunities to maximize the use of diverse human resources, which is a necessary strategy for Japanese companies to increase their competitiveness. Our company was selected in FY 2015.

2021 J-Win Diversity Award Basic Category, Basic Achievement Grand Prize

The J-Win Diversity Award has been held annually since 2008 by J-Win, a non-profit organization, with the aim of accelerating the promotion of diversity and inclusion (D&I) in Japanese companies by awarding leading companies that are promoting D&I. We were awarded the 2021 J-Win Diversity Award, Basic Category, Basic Achievement Grand Prize in FY 2020, in recognition of our positioning and promotion of diversity management as a strategy to support sustainable management (sustainable urban development, corporate development, and human resource development).

Ikumen Company Award 2015

The MHLW established the Ikumen Company Award to promote the development of a working environment where men can have and raise children with peace of mind while working. We were the first company in the transportation industry to receive the Special Encouragement Award, at the Ikumen Company Awards 2015, in recognition of our flexible work system, including the introduction of sliding work hours and time off, as well as our efforts to raise awareness among management through the Ikuboss Seminar and introduction of partially paid childcare leave.

PRIDE Index 2021 “Gold”

Work with Pride (wwP), a voluntary organization that supports the promotion and establishment of diversity management related to LGBT and other sexual minorities, recognized our LGBT policies and awarded us “Gold” in the PRIDE Index for five consecutive years (FY 2017–2021). (In 2016, we received a “Silver” rating on the PRIDE Index.)
In FY 2016, we held a study session on “What You Need to Know about LGBT” and opened a Diversity and LGBT Consultation Desk. In addition, in July 2017, in order to further promote understanding of the LGBT community and create an environment in which LGBT employees can work comfortably, we clearly stated the prohibition of discrimination in our employment regulations and reviewed the conditions for marriage and other family-related leave, thereby promoting understanding among employees and establishing a support system for individuals. In the study sessions held in FY 2018, 31 consolidated companies also participated to deepen their understanding of LGBT issues. In FY 2020, D Magazine (a media outlet for receiving and disseminating diversity information internally) featured LGBT issues to deepen company-wide understanding of basic knowledge about LGBT issues, common problems in the workplace, and what it takes to become an ally*. We have also co-sponsored Tokyo Rainbow Pride for five consecutive years, aiming to promote understanding of the event both inside and outside the company.

Health & Productivity Stock Selection

The METI and TSE jointly select companies that consider employee health management from a management perspective and work on it strategically as a Health & Productivity Stock Selection. This initiative is a part of our efforts to “extend the healthy life span of the people,” which is positioned in the strategy for the revitalization of Japan.

We have been selected for this award for seven consecutive years since 2015, in recognition of our top management’s efforts to clearly identify and promote employee health through our philosophy and management policies, as well as our own corporate hospital and its initiatives for mental health checks and measures for employees. In 2021, 48 companies were selected, and six companies in Japan were selected for the seventh consecutive year.

The Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry(METI) presents awards to corporations, including large corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), that practice particularly excellent health management, based on their efforts to address local health issues and health promotion initiatives promoted by the Nippon Kenko Kaigi.
The objective is to create an environment in which excellent corporations that are engaged in health management should be “made visible” so that they can be evaluated socially by employees, job seekers, related companies, financial institutions, etc. as “corporations that think about employee health management from a management perspective and work on it strategically.”
In 2022, 2,299 companies (500 of which, including our company, are “White 500” companies) were certified in the large-scale corporation category as Certified Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organizations 2022.

Since FY 2015, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has selected companies that promote sports activities among their employees and provide support in the field of sports as Tokyo Sports Promotion Companies. From among these companies, those with initiatives that have a particularly large social impact and ripple effect are selected and honored as Tokyo Metropolitan Government Model Companies for Sports Promotion. Our company was recognized as a Sports Promotion Company for six consecutive years and was honored as a Model Company for FY 2016 and 2020. We were also recognized as a Sports Yell Company by the Japan Sports Agency for four consecutive years, which we have been implementing in conjunction with the program since FY 2017.

Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Encouragement Award for companies making excellent efforts to help cancer patients balance treatment and work

Since 2014, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government has been giving awards to companies that have made excellent efforts to enable employees to balance work and medical treatment and has been promoting the balancing of work and medical treatment for employees with cancer and other illnesses by making these efforts widely known to society and companies.
Our company received the Encouragement Award in the Commendation for Companies Making Excellent Efforts to Balance Work and Treatment of Cancer Patients in 2016.

Smooth Biz Promotion Award

We participated in the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Smooth Biz initiative, which integrated the promotion of Time-Based Biz, telework, and transportation demand management to reduce traffic congestion during the Tokyo 2020 Games.
In FY 2019, the Smooth Biz Promotion Grand Prize and Smooth Biz Promotion Award were established with the aim of announcing the further spread and promotion of Smooth Biz to the citizens of Tokyo and building social momentum.
Our company received the Smooth Biz Promotion Award as a company or organization that had made ambitious and advanced efforts.

Shining Telework Award

The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) established the Shining Telework Award in 2015 to further promote and disseminate telework.
We received the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare's  "Special Encouragement Award" in FY2019 as a company that makes various ingenious efforts to introduce telework, which serves as a model for other companies and organizations.

100 Telework Pioneers

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC) established the 100 Telework Pioneers list in 2015 to further promote the spread of telework.
In 2016, 53 organizations were designated “telework pioneers,” and, among them, we were selected as one of the 100 Telework Pioneers for our proactive efforts, especially with regard to the frequency, target scale, and implementation rate of telework.

Telework Promotion Award (Encouragement Award)

The Japan Telework Association has been running the Telework Promotion Award commendation program since 2000 with the aim of further promoting the spread of telework, which enables flexible work styles, unrestricted by location or time, through the use of Information and Communication Technology (ICT). In FY 2016, the 17th year of the competition, a total of 11 companies and organizations received awards under the theme of “Aiming to Reform the Way We Work through Telework,” and we received the Encouragement Award.
