
the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is the world's largest sustainability initiative, bringing together the United Nations and the private sector (companies and organizations) to build a healthy global society. the Company and its consolidated subsidiaries became the first corporate group, including the railway business, to sign the compact in April 2019. We support the 10 principles, which are comprised of four areas: human rights, labor, the environment, and Corruption Prevention, and will continue to promote further sustainability initiatives.

The SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) are international goals for 2016 to 2030 set out in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which was adopted at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit in September 2015 as an action plan for humanity, the planet and prosperity. It consists of 17 goals and 169 targets to realize a sustainable world, and we have pledged to leave no one behind on the planet. We will contribute to the achievement of the SDGs by identifying Material sustainability themes from social issues including the SDGs, and through Sustainable management addresses these themes and Urban and community development aimed at create beautiful living environments

The TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) was established by the Financial Stability Board (FSB) in 2015 with the aim of ensuring the stability of the global economy by identifying and disclosing the financial impacts of the risks and opportunities posed by climate change.
In September 2020, the Company and its consolidated subsidiaries declared their support for the TCFD and have been working to predict the impact of climate change on our business, strengthen risk management, and integrate our response to risks and opportunities with our business strategies, while also disclosing information based on the recommendations.

RE100 is an international initiative run by the international NGO The Climate Group and CDP to promote 100% renewable energy for companies. It has set a goal of covering 100% of the electricity consumed in business activities with renewable energy by 2050, and many companies around the world are participating.
In October 2019, the Company and its consolidated subsidiaries became the first Japanese corporate group that includes the railway business to join RE100. As part of our "challenge for the future," we envision the future in 2050 by providing social value that is unique to our company, which has a wide range of businesses, and aim to "urban and community development that the world aspires to."

The Japan Climate Initiative (JCI) endorses the declaration, "Japan will take part in the world's forefront of decarbonization," and is a network designed to strengthen information dissemination and exchange of opinions among diverse stakeholders other than national governments, including companies, local governments, organizations, and NGOs that are actively working on climate change countermeasures.
Our company participates in JCI (Joint Commission on Climate Change) and is strengthening exchanges of opinions and information dissemination with companies, local governments, and NGOs that are actively working on climate change countermeasures. In October 2022, our employees spoke at the "Climate Change Action Japan Summit 2022," giving a presentation on the theme of "Tokyu Corporation Group's Initiatives Towards the Realization of a Decarbonized Society" and participating in a panel discussion on the theme of "Decarbonization in the Transportation Sector." We explained our "Environmental Vision 2030" and its goals, and introduced examples of initiatives toward realizing a decarbonized and recycling-based society.
In April 2021, as a member of JCI, we submitted a letter to the Japanese government calling for Japan to strengthen its emission reduction targets from the then-current target of 26% to 50% and then 55%, to an ambitious level befitting its role and responsibility as a developed country, comparable to that of Europe and the United States, in order to avert the climate crisis.
In June 2022, as a member of JCI, we published a message calling for the government to focus on promoting the development of renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power, and to enable 40% to 50% adoption by 2030, as part of the "Clean Energy Strategy" that the government was working to formulate by June 2022.
In November 2025, 10 years after the adoption of the Paris Agreement and ahead of COP30, as a member of JCI, we endorsed the "Declaration of Climate Change Action Japan Summit 2025," issued by JCI as a declaration of unwavering determination to continue the challenge of decarbonization, reflecting on the magnitude of the will and mission of Japanese nongovernmental actors in which JCI participates to confront the climate crisis.

Challenge Zero (Challenge Net Zero Carbon Innovation) is a new initiative launched by the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) in collaboration with the Japanese government to strongly promote and support innovative actions undertaken by companies and organizations both domestically and internationally toward realizing a "decarbonized society," which is positioned as the long-term goal of the Paris Agreement, an international framework for climate change measures.
By supporting the initiative in September 2020, we are expressing our commitment to taking on specific challenges, such as developing net-zero emission technologies (including transition technologies), actively implementing and disseminating them, and financing them.

COOL CHOICE is an initiative that encourages people to make smart choices in their daily lives, such as purchasing new products, using services, and making lifestyle choices that contribute to creating a carbon-free society, in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions such as CO2.

The GX (Green Transformation) League is a platform for companies actively working towards decarbonization to achieve carbon neutrality in Japan and globally, where they engage in discussions for the transformation of the entire economic and social system and implement practices for creating new markets. Following our endorsement of the GX League Basic Concept announced by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in February 2022, we joined the GX League in FY2023 The GX League has implemented specific projects such as a forum for dialogue on future society visions (a forum for discussing and creating a sustainable future vision for carbon neutrality in 2050), a forum for market rule formation (a forum for discussing market creation and rule-making in the era of carbon neutrality), and a forum for voluntary emissions trading (a forum for voluntary emissions trading toward carbon neutrality). Together with other participating companies, we are actively participating in detailed design discussions and demonstrations of initiatives toward the operation of the GX League.

The Tokyo Zero-emission Innovation Bay aims to make Tokyo Bay the world's first zero-emission innovation area, and as member companies, we will promote this vision.

In December 2021, we expressed our endorsement of the Declaration of Biodiversity formulated by Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) and the Keidanren Committee on Nature Conservation, and joined the Keidanren Biodiversity Declaration Initiative. We will continue to promote environmentally and ecologically conscious initiatives with the aim of “realizing a sustainable society through building a society in harmony with nature.”
