The Tokyu Group is engaged in urban and community development development through a wide range of businesses that are closely tied to daily life, primarily in areas along areas served by Tokyu’s railway lines. Urban and community development incorporates lifestyle infrastructure and services into surface development, and some of these infrastructure and services have a highly public nature.
Tokyu Railways, which operates a railway business that is a representative example of public transportation, provides transportation services so that not only women, children, and the elderly, but also everyone can travel Safety & Security regardless of their family situation. Providing such a right to travel is premised on ensuring safe and stable transportation and maintaining lines and transportation capacity, so in order to maintain and improve these, it is necessary to ask for fares. However, as of March 2022, the minimum fare for Tokyu Lines (excluding the Setagaya Line and Kodomo-no-Kuni Line) is 124 yen for adults when using a transportation IC card, which is one of the cheapest levels among railway companies in the metropolitan area. Due to the spread of new lifestyles due to the spread of the new coronavirus infection, we have decided to revise fares from spring 2023 in order to ensure safe and stable transportation and maintain lines, but the fare for student commuter passes will remain unchanged in order to reduce the burden on household finances as much as possible. In addition, for seniors, we have launched a limited-edition "Tokyu Line Unlimited Pass (Over 60)" that allows unlimited use of Tokyu lines for one month for 2,000 yen, and for children of elementary school age or younger, we have launched a limited-edition "Tokyu Kids 100 Yen Pass" that allows unlimited use of Tokyu lines for one day for 100 yen. We will continue to promote efforts to enable all customers to use Tokyu lines without feeling any special burden.
