The Construction Recycling Law requires that construction work ordered by our company be carried out with separate dismantling and recycling. We also promote recycling in construction work that is not subject to this law.
We strive to minimize the amount of waste generated in each of our business operations, and in cooperation with construction companies, we thoroughly separate and promote recycling of construction waste from railway construction and real estate construction work.
The CFC Emissions Control Law came into effect in April 2015. As a result, simple inspections for “all commercial air conditioners and refrigeration units” and periodic inspections for “commercial air conditioners and refrigeration units above a certain scale” are now mandatory.
We are also taking appropriate measures based on the purpose of the revised law.
In FY2023, no soil contamination survey results were reported that fall under laws and ordinances. We take into consideration the possibility of contamination and conduct soil analysis as appropriate to confirm safety.
Tokyu Railways conducted a survey on the use of asbestos in 2005 and confirmed its safety. In addition, although products containing asbestos are used as insulation in some carriages, there is no risk of the asbestos scattering. When dismantling carriages, measures are taken to prevent the insulation from scattering, and it is removed and properly disposed of.
Under this system, which came into effect in April 2007, we have submitted notifications for all of our business locations that generate industrial waste.
There were no environmentally related litigation cases in FY2023.
