Endorsement of initiatives

the United Nations Global Compact

the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) is the world's largest sustainability initiative, bringing together the United Nations and the private sector (companies and organizations) to build a healthy global society. the Company and its consolidated subsidiaries became the first corporate group, including the railway business, to sign the compact in April 2019. We support the 10 principles, which are comprised of four areas: human rights, labor, the environment, and Corruption Prevention, and will continue to promote further sustainability initiatives.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) are international goals for 2016 to 2030 set out in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which was adopted at the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit in September 2015 as an action plan for humanity, the planet and prosperity. It consists of 17 goals and 169 targets to realize a sustainable world, and we have pledged to leave no one behind on the planet. We will contribute to the achievement of the SDGs by identifying Material sustainability themes from social issues including the SDGs, and through Sustainable management addresses these themes and Urban and community development aimed at create beautiful living environments

the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)

The TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures) was established by the Financial Stability Board (FSB) in 2015 with the aim of ensuring the stability of the global economy by identifying and disclosing the financial impacts of the risks and opportunities posed by climate change.
In September 2020, the Company and its consolidated subsidiaries declared their support for the TCFD and have been working to predict the impact of climate change on our business, strengthen risk management, and integrate our response to risks and opportunities with our business strategies, while also disclosing information based on the recommendations.

RE100 (Renewable Electricity 100)

RE100 is an international initiative run by the international NGO The Climate Group and CDP to promote 100% renewable energy for companies. It has set a goal of covering 100% of the electricity consumed in business activities with renewable energy by 2050, and many companies around the world are participating.
In October 2019, the Company and its consolidated subsidiaries became the first Japanese corporate group that includes the railway business to join RE100. As part of our "challenge for the future," we envision the future in 2050 by providing social value that is unique to our company, which has a wide range of businesses, and aim to "urban and community development that the world aspires to."

Japan Climate Initiative (JCI)

The Japan Climate Initiative (JCI) is a network that supports the declaration "Japan will join the global frontline in decarbonization" and strengthens the dissemination of information and exchange of opinions among a variety of entities other than national governments, such as companies, local governments, organizations, and NGOs that are actively working to combat climate change.
We participate in JCI and are strengthening the exchange of opinions and dissemination of information with companies, local governments, NGOs, and others who are actively working to combat climate change. In October 2022, our employees took to the stage at the Japan Climate Action Summit 2022, where they gave a presentation on the theme of "Tokyu Corporation Group's efforts to achieve a carbon-free society" and participated in a panel discussion on the theme of "Decarbonization of the transportation and transport sector." They explained our "Environmental Vision 2030" and its goals, and introduced examples of our efforts toward realizing a carbon-free, recycling-based society.

Challenge Zero

Challenge Zero (Challenge Net Zero Carbon Innovation) is a new initiative launched by the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren) in collaboration with the Japanese government to strongly promote and support innovative actions undertaken by companies and organizations both domestically and internationally toward realizing a "decarbonized society," which is positioned as the long-term goal of the Paris Agreement, an international framework for climate change measures.
By supporting the initiative in September 2020, we are expressing our commitment to taking on specific challenges, such as developing net-zero emission technologies (including transition technologies), actively implementing and disseminating them, and financing them.

COOL CHOICE

COOL CHOICE is an initiative that encourages people to make smart choices in their daily lives, such as purchasing new products, using services, and making lifestyle choices that contribute to creating a carbon-free society, in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions such as CO2.

GX League

The GX (Green Transformation) League is a forum for companies actively working towards decarbonization to discuss the transformation of the entire economic and social system and put into practice the creation of new markets in order to achieve carbon neutrality in Japan and the world. Following our endorsement of the GX League Basic Concept published by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in February 2022, we have participated in the GX League, which began in FY2023. Together with other supporting companies, we will actively participate in detailed design discussions and demonstration of initiatives in preparation for the operation of the GX League.

Tokyo Zero-emission Innovation Bay

The Tokyo Zero-emission Innovation Bay aims to make Tokyo Bay the world's first zero-emission innovation area, and as member companies, we will promote this vision.

Keidanren Initiative for Biodiversity Conservation

In December 2021, we expressed our endorsement of the Declaration of Biodiversity formulated by Keidanren (Japan Business Federation) and the Keidanren Committee on Nature Conservation, and joined the Keidanren Biodiversity Declaration Initiative. We will continue to promote environmentally and ecologically conscious initiatives with the aim of “realizing a sustainable society through building a society in harmony with nature.”

The IkuBoss Corporate Alliance

The Ikuboss Corporate Alliance is a network of companies that recognize the need for Ikubosses, actively work to change the mindset of their managers, and cultivate ideal bosses (Ikubosses) for the new era.
