Tokyu Hotels
Kawasaki King Skyfront Tokyu Rei Hotel, which opened in June 2018, is the world's first hydrogen hotel that uses hydrogen derived from used plastics to generate electricity and hot water for the hotel. In collaboration with the government and other companies, the hotel is supplying low-carbon hydrogen produced during the recycling process to the hotel's fuel cells through a pipeline and converting it into electricity for the hotel. The waste heat generated during the conversion to electricity is also used as part of the hot water supply for the hotel. In one year, the hotel used a total of approximately 300,000 Nm3 of hydrogen and generated approximately 450,000 kWh of electricity. This has reduced CO2 emissions by approximately 200,000 kg. In addition, a demonstration project was conducted for one year after the hotel opened, using toothbrushes and combs used in the hotel as raw materials for hydrogen, and an initiative was also implemented to return used amenities used by guests to the hotel, attracting attention and being featured in many media outlets.

Hyatt Regency Seragaki Island Okinawa, which we developed as a business operator and hotel manager, opened in August 2018. In developing Onna Village, Okinawa Prefecture, one of Japan's leading beach resorts, we placed importance on making use of the rare natural environment and scenery and Urban and community development with the local community to develop the town. In terms of the environment, we will reduce 12,680t-CO2 during construction and 2,486t-CO2 annually during operation by installing a satellite base for liquefied natural gas and introducing a gas cogeneration system that also serves as an emergency generator. This system, the first of its kind in the country, has been adopted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism as a leading initiative for sustainable buildings (reduced CO2). We would like to add that the opening was only possible thanks to cooperation with the local community, with road reclamation and beach dredging being carried out as public works projects.

We are developing a renewable energy business called "ReENE" that uses the power of nature such as solar, wind, and biomass. Currently, we are operating in 44 locations nationwide, and together we can supply 844MW of electricity, enough for approximately 290,000 households *. In order to achieve SDGs "7: Affordable and clean energy" and "17: Partnerships for the Goals" through our business, we are contributing to regional revitalization led by local communities through solar sharing, which balances agriculture and solar power generation. We are also a member of the international initiative "RE100", which aims to procure 100% renewable energy for business operations. We will continue to promote decarbonization with the aim of achieving "zero CO2 emissions" by 2050.

Tokyu Lines have been working on various CO2 reduction initiatives, including the Eco Driving Project, and now, as a further measure, they have started operating the Setagaya Line on 100% renewable energy, which does not emit CO2. This will reduce CO2 emissions from Setagaya Line operations, which were approximately 1,263 t-CO2 in fiscal 2018 (equivalent to the annual CO2 emissions of 362 average households), to zero, and will eliminate concerns about increased CO2 emissions even if the amount of electricity increases in the future. This attempt, the first of its kind in Japan on an urban railway line, was made possible by a collaboration between Tokyu Railways, Tohoku Electric Power, and Tokyu power supply, and will continue to meet social needs for environmental consideration through the implementation of measures on commuter trains that are close to the lives of consumers.

Shibuya Stream and the Shibuya River Promenade were constructed on the site of the former Toyoko Line elevated track, creating a new landmark on the south side of Shibuya Station. Shibuya Stream is located in an urban regeneration emergency development area, and the Shibuya River regeneration plan was highly evaluated by the local government as a public contribution, and it was awarded an additional volume. The Shibuya River, which was a poor environment described as "smelly, dark, and dirty," was renovated in collaboration with the local community and the government, and public spaces such as a row of cherry trees and a grassy plaza were created. The promenade was designed to create a unique atmosphere that retains the memory of railway, such as by installing pergolas and benches that make use of the former viaduct. The number of pedestrians increased by about three times compared to the previous year near Namikibashi Bridge and about two times near 100BANCH. The plaza is also used for local festivals, contributing to the revitalization of the area.

We have set the goal of our social contribution activities as "promoting support for the elderly and dementia patients," and are watching over and supporting the elderly in the community based on the "New Orange Plan (Comprehensive Strategy for Promoting Dementia Measures)" formulated by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. Specifically, we are carrying out activities such as "training 2,000 dementia supporters in fiscal 2018 and 6,000 over a three-year plan," "promoting customer service and volunteer activities in the community with correct knowledge of dementia," and "participating in a watch network and supporting those with shopping difficulties in cooperation with the government and the Regional Comprehensive Support Center." These efforts have been highly praised, and have been featured in newspapers and government newsletters. We will continue to lead communication in the community and build a trusted company.

To commemorate the 45th anniversary of friendship between Japan and Vietnam, we held the Vietnam-Japan International Youth Cup U-13 in Binh Duong. Our company has been holding friendly events continuously since the international soccer friendly match in 2013, and this year, four teams from Japan, including a J-League youth team and Tokyu S Reyes FC, and four teams from Vietnam participated. With the event gaining attention due to being broadcast on Vietnam's national television, in addition to the matches, we also held soccer classes and a festival with Japanese food stalls, which attracted about 2,000 people during the event. Through this series of activities, we were able to convey Japanese culture and contribute to the revitalization of Local Community. We cooperate in running the children's film festival "Kineko International Film Festival" in the Futako Tamagawa area, centered around "109 Cinemas Futako Tamagawa," which aims to create opportunities for children to learn and grow in individuality, sensitivity, internationality, and morality through movies. Children can develop their dreams and hopes by being exposed to world culture and art through movies from various countries, and by screening works on social issues such as "bullying" and "domestic violence," we provide an opportunity for children to develop their ability to feel and think for themselves and a place for parent-child communication. In addition, we hold outdoor screenings that utilize the natural resources of Futako Tamagawa, hot air balloon ride events, live music, workshops, and more. We convey the charm of the area to visitors and contribute to revitalizing the area.
Tokyu Department Store Sapporo Branch
The Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake of September 6, 2018 caused a power outage across Hokkaido (2.95 million households). While many commercial facilities were unable to resume business, our store, which had installed a cogeneration system (a gas-powered private power generation system), quickly began temporary sales of food and disaster prevention goods, which were in short supply in the prefecture, in some sections the next day. We also installed a free mobile phone charging station, which relieved the concerns of over 200 customers, and provided disaster prevention food in response to requests from various Tokyu Group companies. As a department store rooted in the community, we contributed to maintaining our customers' lives by providing speedy support to customers in Sapporo City, employees of nearby companies, and travelers from Japan and abroad.
